REPVBBICAITALIANA 500 LIRE COINS ERROR/VARITY. All errors are marked in a green arrow in the pictures. Obverse - Doubling on hair, letters, and wheat stalks and chin. Reverse - design is a lay over going on towards the right of the outer part of coins rim, Doubling in the inner part of design. Weak strike, die crack chimney flag, horses snout, hand of man. The date and mint mark lower to inner rim cutting it off. Off center design going south. Toning of building or layer is missing not sure to right. The coins may exhibit things on surface or deeper layers of the coin that causes the coin to then become damage.

Examples are: Fingerprints due to oil. Carbon spots caused by many factors environmental or human factors, Nicks, Dents, Scrapes, Scratches, Holes, Crud, Dirt, Sticky Residue, Driving over coins or any hand operated tools used after it leaves the minting floor, Chemicals introduced for cleaning of the coin, Household cleaning products or more hazardous chemicals to alter the appearance of coin on purpose or not. Toning by heat or chemicals not letting a coin tone naturally. Or used a lot and it becomes worn naturally.
