EXCESSIVELY RARE 1626 PIACENZA ITALY SCUDO FINEST KNOWN. This is an extremely rare large silver 1626 Scudo from Piacenza, Italy. Two or three examples per decade will enter the market, but none are as fine as this example. It is well centered, fully struck showing exquisitely fine detail, just the least amount of wear, and a handsome, original soft, light gray patina. This magnificent coin has none of these defects and as such is exceptionally rare.
