3.44g GOLD COIN ALVISE I Mocenigo DOGE OF VENICE. This is a venetian Zecchino gold coin, over 400 years old, it feature the ruler or leader (DOGE). Alvise I Mocenigo on the obverse, with S. Marco standing right presenting long cross to Doge who is kneeling left. The revere features Christ Pantokrator standing facing within manorial containing 16 stars.

I believe this is Papadopoli 5 Variety with obverse legend stops; also Paulucci 2. Coin is VF or VF+, fairly well struck up for the issue.

These coins were struck coins, not minted coins. From my collection that took 50 years to accumulate.
